Abidjan, 2 avril 2024 - Lancement officiel de la Plateforme Africaine des Fact-Checkers Francophones (PAFF)
Dans un contexte mondial où l'information circule plus librement et rapidement que jamais, la vérification des faits devient une nécessité impérieuse pour garantir l'intégrité et la fiabilité de l'information. C'est dans cet esprit que la Plateforme Africaine des Fact-Checkers Francophones (PAFF) a été fondée le 28 mars 2024 à Abidjan, réunissant les forces de plusieurs organisations médiatiques pionnières dans le domaine de la vérification des faits en Afrique francophone.
La PAFF, animée par une dizaine de médias et d'organisations de fact-checking, s'engage à promouvoir une information de qualité, basée sur les faits et exempte de désinformation. Notre mission est de contribuer activement à un environnement informationnel fiable, transparent et accessible à tous.
Aujourd'hui, nous avons également le plaisir d'annoncer le lancement de notre site internet, PAFF.africa. Cette plateforme en ligne servira de relais pour toutes les publications vérifiées par les membres du réseau. Elle a pour ambition de faciliter l'accès à des données fiables et de proposer des ressources telles que des outils avancés de vérification, des guides de formation, des notes analytiques et des rapports d'études.
Notre engagement se traduit par la mise en place de programmes spécifiques, tels que la surveillance des campagnes électorales et la réponse aux crises sanitaires ou sociales, où la désinformation peut avoir des conséquences particulièrement néfastes. De plus, la PAFF œuvre pour le renforcement des capacités de ses membres à travers des actions de formation continue et un soutien aux démarches de certification, notamment l'adhésion au Réseau international de vérification des faits (IFCN).
